SLC -- Just For Me 01.14.2005 - 4:18 p.m. so here i am in salt lake city.... yes, i know, you're saying, "its your vacation!!! what the heck are you doing on the computer?!?" well i walked my mom 6 blocks to downtown, we did all the sites and took in some shopping, after about 7 hours of that, i walked her 6 blocks back to our hotel.....so needless to say, we're a bit pooped! but i have a good friend out here and he's taking me back on the town tonight while i'm sure my mom will snooze.... but its way cool in these here parts... its so clean!!...i think i read that somewhere before on here, but it is! yes, its kinda like a normal ole city, they have their share of homeless people. but even the bums seemed strangely different. everything's in such order and everyone's so NICE! while we were touring, the little old couples that are working the tours, or volunteering at the musuems, just take such good care of you. i felt like every little old lady i talked to was my grandma and by the end of all our conversations we'd have a good cry....okay not really, but i SO COULD HAVE! well first thing this morning, mom and i got to the mall and she wanted a biscuit. so i got it for her. there was this bum in front of me, and he ordered his own coffee! and BREAKFAST!!....and he must have been a regular because they greeted him and asked if he wanted his usual....and he in turn was just a happy-go-lucky bum that was greeting and smiling to all sorts of people coming in to work.... gosh! even the bums are happy people. i'm tellin' ya....its like this city is filled with a bunch of mormons or something.... hehehe, just kidding...it is. � |
