in search of erin brockavich?!? 07.08.2003 - 1:42 p.m. the new buzz around this little town o'mine..... my friends and i have been noticing the yellowish tint in our toilets. each of us being somewhat embarrassed of the fact, never mentioned it to each other. well one night at the local bar, i shouted to my sister in the girls bathroom, "Summer, they're toilet is yellow water too!!" then we began speaking of it to our friends, and we all found out that each of us were experiencing the same mystery. whats so funny is the president of the board of public works in gaffney is a very, very wealthy man. he makes more than any other in this position in the United States. hell, we did the math and he makes more than the Vice President of the United States. therefore making us worry about this yellow-y water problem. it wasnt much of a concern until..... my dad and i have been doing a little work on our pool so we can fill it up. we wanted it done by the 4th, but didn't work out that way. the other night my dad started filling it up...well we woke up to this sight:
this is our FRESH WATER SUPPLY!! and he's making over $250 Grand a year!! this is what we're drinking. all of us helpless, innocent people drinking this disgusting mess! my dad did a water test on it and said there was little to no chlorine found in the water. that means i'm pretty much sticking my head into Broad River and taking a big gulp. WHAT THE HELL!?!? anyways, i'm not that real freaked out because it hasn't hurt me yet. i went out and bought a brita today, but who knows how much that will help. maybe this is the reason i've been potty around 6 times in the past 48 hours....(hehehehe, and i thought i was just VERY REGULAR!) so anyways, erin brockavich, if you're out there...please, please, take a stop by gaffney, sc. we could use your help in getting this tottie off his high horse and clean our water.... think of all the little children that will be born cyclops.....i think i'm growing an eleventh toe! erin, please! think of the children!!!! � |
