a little trickster is loose!

03.11.2003 - 7:48 a.m.

hehehe...i'm so sneaky....i've convinced my 2nd graders that there's a leprechaun loose in our classroom.

this morning i came in early and opened my science cabinet and spilled everything out of it. i busted open a bag of flour and made tiny foot prints in the carpet. i also wrote a secret code up on the board and drew a little clover beside it.

of course, when the kids came in they went crazy wild!

"Omigosh, Ms. Swtapplpie!!!"

it was so funny. and of course then, they were like.....look! and in their agendas just "happened" to be a secret code that looked like mine.....hahah...and they've already found "notes" left in their books saying "Beware of me! signed Tricky." and it is curiously in their own handwriting. silly guys....

they are crazy little stinkers. tomorrow i'm going to dump over somebody's desk so they'll think the leprechaun was hiding out in their desk all day. it'll be great!

i assigned them to make leprechaun traps and we're making Watch Out posters for the school.

i'm such a teaser. i tried to do something like this one other time. actually, just now i couldnt remember what it was that i did, so i asked Matilda Silver and she was like "IT WAS VALENTINES DAY! and hearts kept appearing in mid air!"

What a doof! that SO was not it! i didnt even do anything like that....they love to make up stuff!

well i remembered, at christmastime, we studied christmas around the world and i taught germany....and we learned the legend of the silver pincones, where a little poor old woman gathered pinecones from a secret forest and overnight an elf turned them to silver so she could provide for her family at christmas.....

well we gathered pinecones and overnight i spray-painted them silver....yes, and that is very similar to hearts appearing in mid-air. they were too smart for the pinecones though. they peeled them all apart and found the "nonpainted" part!

little bastards!

nah, i love them....they keep me going....have a good day, all!
