update on dad 03.04.2003 - 7:52 a.m. hellooooooooooooo! so my dad's doing great! yeah!! we all got to the hopsital at 5am and they took him back at 6:30. the procedure started at 8:30....he was supposed to have a quadruple bypass, but they only did a triple. one of the nurses joked with my sisters and i and said.."One for each of you, huh?" :) they called us in the waiting room at noon and said he's out and he's doing just fine. they didn't even have to put him on life support (i guess they usually do, after something like this). we got to finally go in ICU for a visit at around 2:00. it was hard to see him on the respirator, but the RN told us he could probably hear us. i told him i loved him, and my mom did most of the rest of the talking. i went home and slept for about 3 hours afterwards. my mom called me at about 5:30 and said they've taken him off the respirator and he's breathing on his own. she said he even opened up his eyes and winked at her. i love winks. it made my heart melt. a friend of mine, chris, took me out for a cup of coffee as a little stress reliever. it was nice. i get to go see dad this morning at 10am, so i'm up and at 'em this morning getting things done and ready to go. they say he should be sitting up and able to talk to us. i can't wait! i'll keep ya posted...and thanks for the love.... � |
