a cheesy story 02.05.2003 - 8:38 a.m. today i feel like cottage cheese.... sour and a little lumpy......and i could always be better with a little something sweet by my side. wonder why its called "cottage" cheese? was it first formed in a little cottage. maybe a poor, little family lived out in a cottage sometime around (before cottage cheese was made).... the poor family relied on their one and only cow to provide the nutritious milk that would keep their family strong and healthy. but without the luxuries of power or even an ice box, their delicious milk curdled.....and it was days before they even noticed. it was so long by the time they even remembered, the milk had to be sliced through with a knife! so because of their starving children mom and dad decided to dice up the solidified milk and serve it to their family for dinner. "Mmmm, Mom it tastes kinda funny!" says little brother. "Its a little sour, but i like the lumpies, " says little sister... "Hey wife, go pick us a couple of peaches off that there peach tree and lets slice it up to go with our milk," dad demands. so she does, thus the beginning of cottage cheese. cheesy bits floating around in its own soured sweat......personally it makes me gag.... subsequently...my feelings today. � |
